Rosenblum said the deer population is a danger to motorists in the region. He wants the state to use hunting, birth control or relocation to reduce the danger. Rye will host a deer management summit in February with state and county officials, the story said.
Rosenblum sent an email to residents on Jan. 18 which included an attachment of a note he sent to Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathleen O'Connor and state Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joseph Martens. In the letter to officials, Rosenblum also said deer can spread Lyme disease and disrupt the ecosystem.
